The surface area of the Mr Bricolage store in Mamoudzou, Mayotte, has increased from 1165 m² to 1984 m². This increase has allowed the store team to extend their gardening, sanitary and decorations range. The three main departments in the store represent a local benchmark. The store offers 35,000 product references to meet the needs of local customers.

The extension has ensured that the store stands out on the local market. The store has used the new surface area to focus on project-based ranges, which did not previously exist. The new layout includes a large sanitary showroom with a selection of products which would be considered as “flashy” in mainland France, but which are very popular in Mayotte. The store also offers hardware, tiling and parquet ranges and a dressing showroom. According to local custom, products need to be visible to be purchased. Setting up product scenarios should therefore boost sales.

Garden products are sold all year round thanks to the local climate. This is the main department for the store. Mr Bricolage offers exclusive ranges for pottery, barbecue, wood, autoclaved wood and woven panels.

The decorations department is particularly popular in Mayotte. Muslim traditions mean that home decorations become a focal point during Ramadan. Store sales peak during this period every year. The store has developed a large fine arts and arts and crafts department. This completes the existing framing service. This department is appreciated by expatriates whose partners are sometimes without work. They often find fine arts an enjoyable occupation, particularly in the ideal climate.
